At CS Young Horse Training we specialize in young horses and behavioral challenges in horses. Clarissa lays the groundwork to make your horse a superstar at loading, bathing, tying, lunging, fly- spraying, picking you up at the mounting block, and much more.

Clarissa’s training is influenced by the horses that have shaped her, but she utilizes Ryan Rose’s groundwork process, Tristan Tucker’s desensitizing program and Warwick Schiller’s thoughts on polyvagal theory in horses.

Clarissa enjoys positive reinforcement and occasionally uses treats but her training leans toward traditional, often employing systematic desensitization.

Confidence building through exposure and preparation sets your horse up to handle claustrophobic situations, trails, loose horses, wildlife encounters, getting their leg caught in something and even a saddle flipping or a rider being dragged. Teaching horses to not panic is our main priority for rider and handler safety.

Clarissa starts a select number of horses under saddle each year but her main focus in groundwork.

$65/hr within 20 minutes of Duvall

$75/hr within 20-35 minutes of Duvall

Please Note Clarissa does not travel further than 35 minutes unless there are multiple horses.
